Our prayer services are davened in the traditional way, using the Singer’s Prayer Book and members are encouraged to lead services, leyn from the Torah and participate. Families sit together, and both men and women are counted in the minyan, called up to the Torah, Leyn and read Haftarah.Founded in 1984 by 10 families, our stunning synagogue and community centre was opened 1996. We’ve always combined traditional Judaism with a modern understanding of religious thought and practice, which is what makes Masorti unique to other denominations in Judaism. We have created a synagogue where Jewish observance and worship are conducted in an inclusive, tolerant and open environment. All are welcome to participate and we are proud of the warmth of our services and our educational, cultural and social events.
Through our services and social activities, our excellent youth and adult study programme, our commitment to care for, and about, each other and our links with the other Masorti Synagogues, we try to reach out to all Jews, whatever their level of observance or interests. We are a caring community and would be delighted to welcome you to our synagogue family.
