The Enderley Road Patients’ Association (ERPA) was established in 2010. All patients of the Medical Centre are automatically members of the Association and are eligible for election to its Committee. A central aim of our Association is to build a positive, honest relationship between the Practice and patients.
The Association offers the Practice a patient perspective. We seek to act as a ‘critical friend’ to the Practice, helping it appreciate and understand what patients are thinking about the service they receive, for example surgery times, telephone systems, making appointments and the range and type of services provided by the Practice. ERPA holds regular meetings mainly at the surgery which provide a forum to offer positive feedback and to share thoughts and concerns. The Practice Manager attends all meetings; doctors and other staff members may also be present.
Our newsletter Enderley Pulse communicates information on surgery developments, and a variety of health-care related topics. Hard copies are available in the surgery – electronic versions are also available. The Association is involved in patient surveys and contributes to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspections.
ERPA is a member of the National Association for Patient Participation (NAPP) which promotes and supports patient participation in primary care. ERPA is also a member of the Harrow Patient Participation Network (HPPN) which brings together patient groups throughout the Borough. ‘Patient participation is a unique partnership between patients, GPs and their practice which is essential to and results in high quality and responsive care’.
