Award-winning charity Shared Lives South West supports adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health issues and dementia by matching them with a carer. Our assessed and trained carers then open their own family home to the person needing support
The aim is for the person being supported to live the fullest life they can, be part of the community and maintain and promote new skills and independence. It’s like adult fostering and an alternative to supported living and residential care. The established organisation, now in its 15th year, is rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.
